    Glossary

    Insurance product information document

A short standardised summary of what a policy covers and excludes.

Usually shortened to IPID. Insurers must provide one for general insurance products; it sets out the main cover, the main exclusions and the obligations on you, in a standard order and a standard format. It is designed for comparison between products and is much shorter than the policy wording — but it is a summary, and the wording still governs.
