About this tool
This tool helps you work out what shape of health insurance would match your situation before you speak to anyone or ask for quotes. It does not recommend a policy, name an insurer or give a price.
You answer ten short questions: who needs cover, what you most want it for, how you feel about paying an excess, whether outpatient cover matters to you, which hospitals you would want to use, and how you would handle a pre-existing condition. You get back a plain description of the cover your answers point towards, what each choice costs you in practice, and the things no policy will do. You can take that description to any insurer or broker and compare written quotes against it. Your answers stay in your browser.
About you and what matters
What happens next is not our job
We publish information. We provide information. We do not give personal advice, and we do not arrange insurance on this site. Quotes and policies are handled by PremierPMI, an FCA-authorised broker. If you want someone to look at your circumstances and recommend a policy, that is a regulated adviser’s work — read how we are funded so you know exactly what our relationship with an adviser is before you speak to one.
What this does not tell you
- This is a description of the cover shapes your answers point towards. It is not advice and it is not a recommendation to buy anything.
- We give no prices. What a policy costs depends on your age, where you live, your medical history and the insurer, and only a quotation will tell you.
- We name no insurers and rank no products.
- No policy covers a condition you are already being investigated or treated for, a chronic condition long term, or emergency care.
- Nothing you enter here is sent anywhere or saved.
