    Continued personal medical exclusions

Switching insurer while carrying your existing exclusions across, rather than being underwritten afresh.

Often shortened to CPME. The new insurer accepts the exclusions already applied by the previous one instead of assessing your history again. It is the usual route for someone who wants to change insurer without losing cover they have built up, and it is one of the main reasons people take advice before switching: the terms offered vary by insurer and are not always like-for-like.
