GP report

A medical report an insurer requests from your doctor to support an application or a claim.

Insurers frequently ask for a report from your GP, or for access to your records, either to underwrite an application or to assess a claim. You are asked for consent and are entitled to see the report before it is sent in most circumstances. This is the point at which an inaccurate application answer usually surfaces, which is why answering carefully from your records rather than from memory matters. The report covers what the insurer asks about; it does not hand the insurer an open-ended right to your medical history.
