    Cancer claim authorisation

The insurer’s written approval for a defined cancer service, provider and claim stage.

Cancer claim authorisation records what the insurer has agreed to assess or pay under the policy. It should identify the member, provider and approved scope, and it may need updating if the service, drug, hospital or specialist changes. It is an administrative insurance decision, not clinical advice or a guarantee that every later invoice is covered.
